Community Outreach
The SPS Community Outreach is currently working on making physics and science more accessible to the broader Chapel Hill-Carrboro community by bringing interactive physics activities and education to the Chapel Hill public library. The activities and the information will be disseminated in a way that is accessible and engaging for all ages. They are also working on hosting a public astronomy night for the broader Chapel Hill-Carrboro community using the Morehead Planetarium telescope.

The UNC-CH SPS K-12 Educational Outreach program seeks to engage orange county youth in physics and related STEM subjects to promote student interest and confidence in physics, reduce systemic barriers to quality STEM education, and prepare youth for collegiate science education through free, enhanced and consistent tutor-tutee relationships.
